Kolkata’s new-look IPL team should do well

The Cricket World Cup winning fever will need to now take a backseat as the Indian team will now disintegrate into regional rivalry. The Indian Premier League will begin from the April 8 and in the first game of the tournament, theChennai Super Kings will play the Kolkata Knight Riders.
Till this edition of the tournament, it was very easy to write off the Knight Riders, which did not have the unity needed to overcome the opponents. Sourav Ganguly, who was one of India’s best captains had a horrid run and his issues with the management translated into a poor show or three.
This time, things have changed. Ganguly is no longer a part of the side, and the side is being led by Gautam Gambhir. Gambhir was one of the costliest buys in the auction and deserved the leadership role after his issues with the Delhi management.
With Yusuf Pathan in the side as well, things will look rosy for the side. How they perform, however, will depend on how they gel together throughout the tournament.
